" When after another and other curves and steep mountains sloping down the sea, I finally saw the white houses of Positano, scattered like goats on a green hill, everything looked so welcoming and happy I had the feeling that I had returned to a place where I had already been and immediately felt as I belonged to it"
After a series of curves and high cliffs overlooking the sea, whose intensity amaze the visitor, Positano appears in all its splendor.
Admiring it from the Spiaggia Grande, it looks like a pyramid of typical whitewashed and warm pastel-colored houses, climbing up the hillside, following the natural lay of the land. It represents a natural amphitheatre overlooking the blue sea of the Amalfi coast and the Li Galli islands, last residence of dancer Rudolph Nureyev and, even before, inhabited, according to tradition, by the mythical mermaids.
Narrow cobbled and geranium-scented alleys and suggestive stairways link together large squares where you can find some painters portraying picturesque views of this wonderful coastal town. The workshops of local pottery, leather sandals and linen or cotton clothes framed the vitality that animates the streets of the famous Positano.
